Max Sumicad is an undergraduate student majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Utah, with an anticipated graduation in Spring 2028. He is interested in targeted drug delivery strategies aimed at improving therapeutic specificity and minimizing systemic toxicity.

In the Mei Lab, Max is gaining hands-on experience in translational biomedical research, with a focus on understanding how advanced delivery technologies are developed and evaluated in a preclinical context. This training supports his long-term goal of pursuing a career in medicine and integrating engineering-based therapeutic innovation into clinical practice.

Outside the laboratory, Max enjoys climbing and skiing and spends much of his free time in the mountains.
