Rhona is a PhD student in the Department of Molecular Pharmaceutics at the University of Utah.
She earned her BS in Pharmacy from China Pharmaceutical University through the National Base of Life Science and Biotechnology Education program (a highly competitive nationwide academic honors track for top STEM undergraduates).
Rhona then completed her MS in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University, where she also worked as a research assistant studying Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) at Johns Hopkins Drug Discovery.
In Utah, Rhona’s doctoral research focuses on molecular cloning, protein engineering, and the development of mRNA-LNP platforms for immunotherapeutics that enable AAV gene therapy for rare diseases.
Outside the laboratory, Rhona enjoys playing tennis, making coffee, and shopping.
