The University of Utah College of Pharmacy is consistently ranked among the top 30 PharmD programs by U.S. News & World Report and continues to stand out as a national leader in research and graduate training. According to the 2025 American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) rankings, the College is #11 nationally in total research funding (just under $30 million) and #7 in NIH funding, out of more than 140 accredited U.S. colleges of pharmacy.
The College offers four well-established PhD programs in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Molecular Pharmaceutics (formerly Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Chemistry), and Pharmacotherapy. These programs provide students with rigorous scientific training and access to advanced research infrastructure across the biomedical, translational, and clinical spectrum.
The College is closely integrated with the University of Utah Health campus, encompassing University Hospital, Primary Children’s Hospital, and the Huntsman Cancer Institute—one of only 57 NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country.
